Chooseday Episode 41: Choose to Slip, Slop and Slap

Today is Chooseday, December 27th: Please Choose to Slip, Slip, Slap Because it smart, to be sun smart

Good Morning,

Happy Holidays and thank you for choosing to start your day with a Chooseday mindset!

This Chooseday, we'd like to take our hat off (or in this case put our hat back on) to Philip Adams (the ex ABC broadcaster / advertising genius) and the Cancer Council of Victoria for creating Sid the Seagull and encouraging Australia to Slip Slop and Slap. We have included the original ad below that was launched in 1980, 42 years ago! Today this message is more relevant that ever and we hope you too choose to follow the simple "slip, slop, slap" advice: • Slip on a shirt: Wear clothing that covers your skin to protect it from the sun's rays. • Slop on sunscreen: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 to protect your skin from the sun's UV rays. Be sure to apply it to all exposed skin, and remember to reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating. • Slap on a hat: Wear a hat with a wide brim to protect your face, neck, and ears from the sun's rays.

Do it for yourself. Do it for your loved ones. Let's all do our part to stay safe and healthy this summer. There are dozens of incredible charities on GoodCompany involved in melanoma research and education all looking for passionate supporters like you.

Know someone who wants to know more about the wonderful causes and ideas we've featured? We hope you will choose to share this Chooseday message with them!
