COVID-19 How you, your company and your people can help.

As we navigate our way through these previously unchartered waters we are heartened by the incredible offers of support. You will no doubt be aware of the immense pressures being placed on the social sector. But we all know we are in this together.

So, with a view to #togetherness, please find below just some of our charity partners looking for assistance.

But to make giving support as easy as possible, we have added a COVID-19 filter to our donation portal which now lists over 50 projects.

Our aim is to encourage compassion and open heartedness over closed minds. To call for kindness and consideration of those who are more vulnerable than ever. Because as a humanity, we need to ensure no-one gets left behind.

For 106 years, Australian Red Cross has stood with Australians through war, disaster and other crises.

Today is no different. Right now, Red Cross is expanding and adapting its programs to meet the unique demands of a world responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

They are scaling up welfare calls by Red Cross volunteers trained in Psychological First Aid, to thousands of people in isolation – helping them cope, stay calm, and endure this difficult time. They are looking to increase their existing meals delivery and transport services for people who are elderly, live with a disability or are unwell.

Importantly, they’re doing everything they can to ensure the humanitarian needs of Australia’s most vulnerable people are met – from migrants and refugees starting a new life in Australia, to teenagers facing homelessness, to communities recovering from disaster.

UNICEF is rapidly responding to the coronavirus outbreak, supporting children and their communities in countries that have weak public health infrastructure and helping children where their access to essential services has been disrupted.

We need your help to scale up our response so that we can ensure the continuity of care and education for the most vulnerable children.

  1. Infection prevention and control

  2. Risk communication and community engagement

  3. Child protection

  4. Education for children in affected areas

Even through this global crisis the Animal Welfare League of South Australia (AWL) team is still providing our lifesaving services to desperate pets in need.

Due to COVID-19, AWL is facing huge drops in vital funds from our services that support our shelter. We’ve even been forced to close our ReTAILS Thrift Shops.

Without any government funding, we need you now more than ever to ensure that we can give the dogs and cats in our care the food, shelter, medication and hope they deserve. Our purpose hasn’t changed, but the world has. Give today to help AWL to keep pets in homes, reunite lost pets with their owners and give second chances to animals who need it most.

Barnardos Australia exists to protect and care for some of society’s most vulnerable children and families.  Now more than ever, Australian children need your help.

Families in crisis are already turning to us for help in unprecedented numbers. The coronavirus pandemic is causing a greater need for our services in the community than we have ever seen before. This crisis is having a significant impact on our service delivery and placing considerable strain on our resources – we have been inundated with calls for help and need your support to keep our vital services running.  Our team is working around the clock to support families in need. Together, we must be there for vulnerable children over the weeks and months to come.

Mummy’s Wish provides practical and immediate support to Mums diagnosed with any type of cancer with young children.

We wanted to reassure you that the health, wellbeing and safety of our mums and families are our priority and we are continuing to provide support when they need it the most.

This support includes; care-packs for those newly diagnosed, counselling, gardening and home delivered nutritious meals. We have the culture, technology and capability to enable us to work remotely.

We need your help due to a downturn in fundraising activities.

St Kilda Mums continues to help Victorian families in need with essential nursery equipment, clothing, nappies and toiletries.  The families we support need our help now more than ever.  We’ve had to adapt quickly to the changing environment and we are working harder than ever (without any volunteer support!) to ensure vulnerable babies and children can sleep and travel safely, and get the other urgent items they need like nappies and wipes.
