🌟 CHARITY & VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: WIRES

Volunteering doesn't just change lives — it saves them. 🐨🦘🦜

We’re choosing to support Australian native animals in need by spotlighting WIRES, Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation.

Every year, WIRES responds to over 400 urgent calls a day, helping more than 148,000 injured, orphaned or displaced native animals.

But with increasing calls for help, they can’t do it alone.

Take this poor Brushtail possum - could you imagine finding these little claws protruding from a water pipe?!

When an alarmed householder witnessed those desperate claws last month, he called WIRES, and volunteer Tracy quickly attended the scene. Today he’s safe, wild and free – thanks to a passionate network of trained volunteers and generous donors.

If you love wildlife and want to make a real impact, WIRES will give you the knowledge and skills to become a registered wildlife rescuer.

💻 Their online Rescue 101 course is the first step — designed to help new volunteers understand the basics of wildlife rescue, handling, and rehabilitation.

💚 From there, you can get hands-on experience and join a team of thousands helping to protect our precious wildlife.

📞 $30 = answer an emergency wildlife call

🍼 $76 = care for an orphaned koala joey for four weeks
