Good Morning,

Most Choosedays we ask you to do something quiet. Breathe. Hydrate. Sleep.

This one's different. This ChooseDay, we're asking you to make some noise!!!

Choose to enter the GoodCompany Awards. Entry is free, it takes a few minutes, and it closes this Friday, 30th October.

The Australian tall poppie disease 🤫

We're a country that's weirdly good at giving and weirdly bad at saying so.

Your workplace probably has a payroll giving program. Someone in finance quietly matches donations. A team spent a Friday building garden beds for a community centre and nobody put it on LinkedIn, because that would be a bit much.

That modesty is lovely. It's also a problem.

Because the companies that do talk about it are the ones that get copied. When Mirvac or Origin or Accenture show up at the top of a list, three other boards ask their CEO why they aren't there too – and the next year there's more giving in the system. Recognition isn't vanity. It's how good behaviour spreads.

So we'd like you to brag. Just this once. For the sector.

What the Awards actually are 📋

Every year we rank Australia's Top 40 Best Workplaces to Give Back– on the stuff that counts: payroll giving, volunteer leave, matched donations, fundraising and the everyday pro-social things your people do without being asked.

🏅 2025's #1 was Mirvac – their fourth straight year in the top 10. Origin took it in 2023, Accenture in 2022.

🆓 Entry is free. Always has been. It's a short online form, not a 40-page submission.

🚌 The winner gets the Mystery Bus. A full team day out, fully organised by us. Everyone hops on, nobody knows where they're going, and they come home having done something that mattered. Past winners still talk about it.

📣 And every finalist gets to tell the world – with a combined audience across participants well into seven figures.

Not sure you'd make the list? ✋

Enter anyway. Three reasons.

  1. You don't know until you're measured. Half the companies in last year's top 40 were surprised to be there.

  2. The entry itself is useful. Pulling the numbers together for the form is the first time a lot of people see their giving program in one place. It's a free audit.

  3. It's Tuesday. The form closes Friday. If you leave it until next week, there is no next week.

If you're not the right person to enter, you're the right person to forward this. Send it to whoever runs People & Culture, or community, or sustainability, or whoever keeps the volunteering spreadsheet. Tell them it's free and it's due Friday.

So today, choose to enter.

Choose to count what your people already do. Choose to say it out loud. Choose the bus.

Happy ChooseDay,

The GoodCompany Team
