Good Morning,
Happy Chooseday dear friends! With International Women's Day around the corner, this Chooseday is about choosing progress for women and girls... not just in words, but in action.
And... there is real progress worth celebrating. According to UNESCO, global enrolment and completion rates for girls in primary and secondary education have steadily improved, narrowing long-standing gender gaps. More women are participating in the workforce and stepping into leadership than ever before.
But the picture isn’t equal yet.
The World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report estimates it could take over a century to reach full gender parity at the current pace. Globally, women still earn on average 20% less than men (UN Women). Here in Australia, the gender pay gap sits at approximately 13% (Workplace Gender Equality Agency, 2024).
That tension, progress and persistence, is exactly why International Women’s Day matters.
At GoodCompany, we believe change happens when everyday people make intentional choices. So this week, we’re inviting you to choose impact in three tangible ways:

Support Dignity Kits for Women in Emergencies through UN Women Australia. In crisis situations, women and girls are disproportionately affected. Dignity kits provide essential hygiene supplies that protect health, safety and autonomy when it matters most.
International Women's Development Agency funds counselling and trauma-informed support for women and girls across the Asia-Pacific.Safe spaces and psychological care are powerful foundations for long-term equality.
Cervical cancer is preventable, yet 99% of deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries (WHO). Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation is working to eliminate cervical cancer through screening, prevention and treatment programs in underserved communities.

International Women’s Day reminds us how far we’ve come.
ChooseDay reminds us that progress only continues when we actively choose it.
Equality isn’t inevitable, it’s built. In boardrooms and classrooms. In policy and pay slips. In dignity kits, counselling sessions, and life-saving health screenings.
So this week, don’t just celebrate women.
Choose to back them.
Choose to support them.
Choose to champion them.
Choose to accelerate change.
Because every choice (no matter how small) moves us closer to a future where equality isn’t a goal, it’s the norm.
Warmly,
- The GoodCompany Team
