Chooseday 4th November, Choose to Play 🎨🎈

ree

Good Morning,

Close your eyes for a moment. Can you remember the last time you ran without thinking, built something just for fun, or got completely lost in a game? That feeling of freedom, curiosity, and joy—you can still find it today.

This ChooseDay, we invite you to choose to play. 💃🕺

Play isn’t just for kids—it’s a way to spark creativity, reduce stress, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that get lost in the everyday rush. Whether it’s drawing, building, exploring, dancing, or even just letting yourself be silly for a few minutes, play is a reminder that life is more than tasks and to-do lists

.A 2025 intervention study of adults (ages 28–58) found that just one hour of structured play significantly boosted mood, energy, and mindfulness, while reducing stress and negative feelings.😄

Bring play into your day today:

  • Host a mini game or creative blue-sky brainstorm with colleagues.

  • Swap your afternoon coffee with 20 star jumps instead!

  • Support charities that help children explore, learn, and thrive.

Play isn’t just fun—it’s powerful. It can bring people together, spark ideas, and inspire joy.

Today, take a break, let your imagination lead, and give yourself permission to laugh, explore, and create.

Speaking of play... this World Children’s Day, November 20, we’re asking workplaces across Australia to do something different - pause work and play instead.

For children play isn’t just fun, it’s fundamental. It’s how children learn, grow, recharge and heal. But for millions of children facing conflict, poverty, and crisis, the simple joy of play has been taken away.

That’s why UNICEF works in over 190 countries to protect every child’s right to play by delivering the essentials that make it possible: clean water, nutritious food, education, healthcare, and safe spaces to learn and grow.

When children are healthy, supported, and safe, they can do what every child should be able to do, just play.

Getting involved is easy:

✨ Launch an Hour of Play Fundraising Page as an individual, team or company and support UNICEF.

Other ways to get involved:

🌈 Host an Hour of Play Activity

Run a fun team activity anytime in November. Collect staff donations or make a corporate contribution.

Some ideas to get you thinking:

  • Wear blue to work and have an hour early mark

  • Trivia evening

  • Ping pong tournament

  • Host a team lunch, extend it by an hour

  • Breakfast tea with blue treats

Support the World Children’s Workplace Giving Appeal

This World Children’s Day, you can make a real difference. Consider double-matching staff donations between 17–27 November to multiply your impact and help children in need. ❤️

Search UNICEF Australia’s World Children’s Day Appeal on your giving platform and see how your contributions add up:

  • $39 = 100 packs of pencils for learning, writing and drawing

  • $126 = a School-in-a-Box for 40 children in crisis around the world

  • $500 = 143 school bags for children who would otherwise go without

Choose to make a difference. Choose to give. Choose to play.

With a little more play in every day,

The GoodCompany Team
