As we head into National Volunteer Week (18–24 May), we’re reminded that volunteering is one of the most powerful ways we can create connection, strengthen communities and make a tangible difference in the lives of others.


In a world where so much of life happens behind screens, volunteering brings us back to something deeply human: showing up for one another. 💛


And Australians are doing exactly that.


More than 6 million Australians volunteer each year, contributing an estimated $17.3 billion in social and economic value to our communities. Volunteers also consistently report greater wellbeing and life satisfaction, with 82% of volunteers reporting higher life satisfaction compared to 75% of non-volunteers.


But volunteering doesn’t just change communities — it changes workplaces too.
