This month is Disability Pride Month – a time to celebrate the diversity, identity and lived experiences of people with disability, and to recognise the importance of belonging in every part of life, including work.


Because disability is a natural part of human diversity. And the way people experience pride is just as diverse.


There’s no single way to experience Disability Pride.

For some, it’s advocacy and speaking up for change.

For others, it’s independence, creativity, leadership, friendship or achieving something personal.

Sometimes it’s big and visible. Often it’s quiet and everyday.


But at its core, Disability Pride is about one thing: belonging.


And workplaces play a huge role in that.



In Australia, the data is clear — but the opportunity is even clearer.


According to AIHW, 2026 people with disability are:

  • 💼 Just as ready to work

  • 📊 56% employed (compared to 82% of people without disability)

  • 🕒 More likely to work part-time, not because of ability, but because of opportunity gaps


So, this Chooseday - we ask you to: 

Choose to see ability, not assumptions.

Choose to create opportunity, not barriers.

Choose to build workplaces where everyone belongs.


Too often, people with disability still face barriers to employment — not because of capability, but because of systems, assumptions and access.


Enter (drum roll please)... All Things Equal.
