Fortescue has established relationships with five corporate charity partners (Lifeline, Royal Flying doctor Service, Salvation Army, MADALAH and Ronald McDonald House). In FY22, we donated$2.5 million to these chartities (excluding employee giving). We also sponsored $152 million to 49 organisations. Key sponsorship partners included Western Force ($600,000), Hockey Australia ($400,000), Black Swan State Theatre Company ($333,334) and the National Indigenous Times ($240,000). Our Community Grants programme continued in FY22, with a spend of more thean $250,000 to support 88 community groups. Our total voluntary social investment for FY22 was $72.6 million, including donations, sponsorships and partnerships, community grants, Pilbara training programs, support of Pilbara residential employees, and in-kind support.

Luminary sponsors a range of business events and community groups. Luminary sponsors events such as the Churchill Club (a not for profit event promoting technology and ideas), a range of Meetups in Melbourne, Sydney and Bali relating to technology and events specifically supporting diversity in tech including DDD Melbourne. Luminary has sponsored an orphanage in Bali for many years and contributed to a wide range of community groups and charities. Charities include UNICEF, Fred Hollows Foundation and many many more.

We work closely with over 20 Community Partners to support their work in the community through financial grants ($850K from the Clayton Utz Foundation in FY22), in kind (use of our office event spaces and meeting rooms), pro bono legal work and fundraising (over $236K in FY21). Our partners include Australian Red Cross, Wayside Chapel, FareShare and Waalitj Foundation. We work with Beacon Foundation, Daystar Foundation and Ardoch to run literacy and mentoring programs in schools in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The Firm is the sponsor of the Australian String Quartet and a proud patron of the arts with arts partnerships exhibiting established and emerging artists in our Melbourne and Sydney offices and a non acquisition art award in our Brisbane office.

We invest 3.2% of net profits after tax into the community each year, across more than 50 types of organisations, State authorities and bodies, Universities and Colleges, Government and Non-Government schools, Public Sector Associations, community organisations, charities, advocacy groups, development agencies and Not for Profits. We invest in a diverse range of initiatives across education, emergency services, health communities and wider society. This encompasses scholarships, sponsorships, grants, conferences and events, professional associations and bodies, professional development, training and mentoring, education awards, charity donations, emergency relief for natural disasters, micro finance and financial literacy programmes in Asia Pacific. These include: The Australian Academy of Science, Australia Healthcare week 2022, The NSW Premier‚Äôs Teachers Mutual Bank Aboriginal Education Scholarship, Bell Shakespeare, Stewart House, NSW Teachers Federation, Universities Australia, Flourish, APPA ‚ Primary Principals Association, NSW Primary Principals Association, Public Education Foundation, APNA ‚ Australian Primary Health, Australia College of Midwives and Emergency Services awards, and WA Education Awards. We have joined other industry leaders in Australia in supporting Asylum Seeker Initiatives through the Asylum Seeker Resource centre. Our bank has been partnering with the international development organisation CUFA since 2016 on the Children‚Äôs Financial Literacy Program to enhance the financial knowledge of Cambodian children affected by poverty. The results include 36,845 children receiving financial literacy training; we have visited 107 schools and 2372 homes, trained more than 809 teachers and resulted in more than 19,507 children opening savings accounts. Prior to COVID-19, 27 bank staff travelled to Cambodia on study tours to observe first-hand the project, community and the country.

Installation of solar and batteries on 23 of Berry Street’s premises to reduce the cost of electricity, enabling these savings to go towards important services in our community. Sponsorship of Financial Counsellor conferences with the opportunity to interact with attendee Counsellors to raise awareness of our Vulnerability program and how we can support their clients. It also enabled participants to attend development sessions held at the conferences of wider interest to them. We partner with Uniting Vic Tas to support customers experiencing vulnerable circumstances with energy audits and energy efficiency information.

In 2021, we launched Daybreak, an accelerator for impactful ideas. Twice a year, for five years, we will support social enterprises and not-for-profits in bringing innovative ideas to life by providing access to $160,000 of in-kind support. This is our largest single commitment to giving back to the impact community, ensuring that great ideas can take flight and create meaningful change in the world. Over the course of five years, we will donate $1.6 million in in-kind services.
