Good Morning,
This week, we celebrate National Reconciliation Week (NRW) from May 27th to June 3rd. It's a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements. This week, we invite you to join GoodCompany in choosing to explore how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in Australia. 🙌
What is reconciliation? 💕
At its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples for the benefit of all Australians.
The theme for NRW 2024, "Now More Than Ever," reminds us that the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will—and must—continue.
There have been many moments in Australia’s reconciliation journey that make us want to turn away. But when things are divisive, the worst thing we can do is disengage or disconnect.
Now more than ever, we need to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation. We know that the 6.2 million Australians who voted YES are committed to better outcomes for First Nations people and are with us. 🌟
So what does reconciliation mean to us? 🖤💛❤️ Here at GoodCompany, we believe reconciliation starts with accountability. For over 65,000 years, Aboriginal people looked after and thrived on the land we work and live on today. We have so much to reflect on and learn.
Reconciliation supporters must stand up to defend and uphold the rights of First Nations peoples, call out racism wherever we encounter it, and actively reinforce the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across this continent.
🤝 Now more than ever, the work continues. In treaty making, in truth-telling, in understanding our history, in education, and in tackling racism. We need connection. We need respect. We need action. And we need change.
This Reconciliation Week, choose to support over 70+ First Nations charities on GoodCompany. Here are a few you can contribute to today:
KARI Foundation: Dedicated to establishing and nurturing the connection between Governments and Corporates to Aboriginal Australia.
Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health Limited: Focused on building sustainable health and well-being for Indigenous Australians.
Aboriginal Literacy Foundation: Committed to improving literacy levels among Aboriginal children.
Reconciliation is a long, winding journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organizations and most importantly as a nation.
We encourage everyone to come together and choose how to celebrate National Reconciliation Week. Whether that's joining in the conversation, taking action and attending events, spending mindful time on Country, supporting First Nations organizations or simply spreading the word of reconciliation. What will you choose to do?

Let’s choose reconciliation. Let’s choose to stand together, support one another, and create a future where everyone is respected, valued, and heard.
Now more than ever, we need reconciliation. 🌏✨ #NRW2024 #ReconciliationWeek #ChooseReconciliation
